Digital Game Producer

What You’ll Do

As a Digital Game Producer, part one of your mission is to create production schedules, track project deliverables, help manage and drive team goals, and contribute to fostering a positive team culture. You will work closely with the various game teams to ensure that development runs smoothly and assist in communication between the departments helping the teams stay on task with ongoing projects.

As an Digital Game Producer, part two of your mission is to onboard external game developers into the Gameboard developer program, conducting webinars and AMAs, notifying of key SDK updates and managing our SDK documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce Great Games!

- Create, organize, and maintain high-level and near-term schedules, project Jira tickets, and game builds.

- Bring a broad set of tools and methodologies that can apply uniquely to each project

- Efficiently schedule and run meetings, assess prior requirements, and ensure goals are clear and followed up onIdentify, communicate, and resolve risks that may be blocking the team from hitting their goals

Deliver for Our External Game Devs

- Effectively communicate SDK and feature updates to internal and external game devs

- Proactively identify and propose solutions for project risks and issues

- Cultivate successful partnerships by leading through influence and looking for positive solutions to all problems

Be a Great Collaborator

- Collaborate with Leads to establish and maintain the project roadmap & long-term feature schedules, milestone definitions, and sprint goals

- Understand and communicate project milestones, deadlines, risks, and stakeholder feedback to team members and Gameboard leadership

- Foster an environment that creates a positive team experience and high morale

DESIRED SKILLS

- Previous Production experience in a creative industry/environment

- Knowledge of game industry-standard software tools, design documents, and production processes/best practices (game concept and prototyping creation, project management, bug reports, and defect tracking)

- Strong time-management skills with the ability to focus on priorities, manage change, and deliver against agreed deadlines

- Proven ability to work under rapid development cycles

- Strong mediation and problem-solving skills

- Solid decision-making capabilities with a demonstrable ability to think outside the box

- Proactive and effective problem solver

Pay ranges from $75k - $100k D.O.E.

Unity Game Developer

Full-time (Denver Metro). $65k - $85k d.o.e.

YOUR MISSION (THREE-FOLD):

- Enhance existing digital tabletop games to take advantage of the novel gameplay capabilities of the Gameboard platform.

- Develop Gameboard versions of existing analog board games.

- Create incredible and boundary pushing first-party Gameboard games.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

- Meeting with the design team to discuss game concepts.

- Contributing to the overall game concept & storyline.

- Generating game scripts & storyboards.

- Translating design ideas into functional game code.

- Coding the base logic engine of the game.

- Contributing to audio & animation design.

- Animating meeples, tokens, cards and other game elements

- Troubleshooting code & fixing bugs.

- Creating game specifications & designing expansion packs.

- Integrating surface and hover touch into game play.

- Integrating the Gameboard Companion App into game play.

- Enabling remote play and cross platform play

QUALIFIERS:

- Experience in a game studio environment with multiple teams and modular code structure.

- Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch”.

- Familiarity with mobile/tablet hardware interfaces (camera, gyroscope, etc.)

- Proficient in Unity (3-5 years+).

- Experience full-cycle game design: Well-versed in best practices, production pipelines, and workflows

- Proficient with programming languages, including C/C++, Java, and C#

- Experience using libraries and APIs as well as knowledge of latest gaming trends

- Strong analytical, artistic, technical skills & ability to solve complex software/coding issues

BONUS:

- Experience in Unreal Engine

- Experience with mobile platforms (iOS and Android)

- Experience with Slack, JIRA, GitLab, and Google Drive

Sr. Software Engineer - Back End

If you are a mid-to-senior developer in Java/Kotlin based web services; if you are a data model and refactoring geek, if you are a very strong clean coder with who has mastered a broad set of cloud technologies such as Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Core services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC Security, etc), GCP, if you are hungry for greenfields development, then we’d love to talk with you about joining our team.

Last Gameboard is a funded female-founded startup based in Colorado with a largely remote team. Last Gameboard is creating a new tabletop gaming platform with a large screen and advanced features for sensing game pieces and its environment allowing interactions impossible before now. The platform is then being loaded with game development partnerships from some of the best games on a tabletop. Job Requirements

Develop and deploy webservices using Kotlin, Springboot, Docker, Postgres, Graph Database, and Kubernetes on AWSContribute to architecture and DevOps for the suite of backend services supporting GameboardDevelop testing/monitoring plans, implementations, dashboards, and alarms.Tame a broad set of cloud services with a mind toward simplifying and automating.

- Produce effective and maintainable software/systemsInterface with content developers, developer relations team, product team, experience designers, etc. to convert use-cases into concrete dev requirements

- Must be able to document plans, designs, and thoughts for others to consume

- Must wear multiple hats and be able to do different tasks if required

- Must be able to collaborate effectively - able to share your vision, effectively engage peers, articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, promoting your ideas as well as being humble when you may be wrong.

Qualifications

- Expert experience writing Java, Kotlin or other JVM languages

- Strong with Spring frameworks

- Strong with relational database querying and performance concepts with some NoSQL experience

- Strong with AWS concepts - EC2, Containers vs AMI, VPC SecuritySignificant experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, etc.)

- Strong object-oriented designer

- Solid engineering capability with an eye towards performance and responsiveness

Bonus Points

- Full/Cross Stack development experience
