The Gameboard Creator Portal is your interface for submitting games into the Gameboard ecosystem similar to Google Play or Apple App Store. You must submit your finished APK along with marketing images and assets for content and quality review. Once approved, your game will be live on the Gameboard Game Shelf.
All games submitted into the Gameboard platform will be evaluated against the following criteria:
Is user presence being properly monitored and used in game?
Does the game lobby explicitly message what is needed from a player before joining the game session (e.g. number of players, companion optional/requirement, etc.)
Does the game maintain player state management for “undo” functionality and/or companion state reconnection for resending of game assets?
Does the game hide player drawers during gameplay and show them again using a settings or “Gameboard badge” icon?
Does the game hint to players for object (minis, hand blade, etc.) interaction to help new players understand how to interact with the game?
Gameboard reserves the right to reject age objectionable content as we currently do not have age gating on our library outside of account creation. For more information, please see our Content Policy.
Gameboard recommends using features that create a great gaming experience for your players. This could be found in using physical pieces, specific shapes or hand gestures on the surface of Gameboard or even using the Companion App in unique and fun ways.
Ultimately, you want the experience to be an enhancement of regular tabletop play - keeping action oriented UX and social interaction front and center.
If your Creator Portal submitted game is rejected, you will receive a detailed list of the reasons why your game was rejected and the necessary steps you need to take toresubmit. Unfortunately, Gameboard does not have the resources to provide analysis on every game in development.
Gameboard is a platform and operates on a revenue share system. We have three main modes of rev share:
Subscription: You are paid on a normalized basis of a subscribers “valuable play” of your game in a month.
Game Purchase: You are paid on a fixed rate rev share on a particular title.
In-Game Purchase: You are paid on a fixed rate rev share on in-game purchases.
The Gameboard Companion App is a single App for playing all games on Gameboard. Creators can choose to use it to display private information (dice, cards, prompts, etc.), but it is not required for gameplay nor are you restricted from developing your own app to integrate with Gameboard.
Gameboard is looking for games that create great shared memories. To some, this is a TTRPG; to others, this is a simple game that they can play with their family; still others, a game they can play remotely with friends across the world.
Gameboard is looking for great game experiences, and our mission is to reward those great gaming experiences with monetary rewards for our Creators. This value-for-value approach ensures your continued investment results in continued revenue growth.
Gameboard is for gamers. In a digitally native world, we wanted to provide a solution that is akin to Kindle and Netflix for tabletop (neither of which killed analog books nor theater attendance). There is always a place and time for analog (our founders still play too!). We simply want to enhance those experiences and provide a better way of access for both publishers and gamers.
